Early Collage Work
I began to love working with paper during undergrad, pursuing my BFA with a concentration in Printmaking. I did only a few chine-collé pieces at the time, but the idea of affixing paper to an artwork was established. While completing my MAEd, I also studied paper-making; as a result of that work, I ended up with a sizable collection of handmade papers. Some of these later found their way onto the surface of paintings.
Here are early or unusual collage pieces and other works where I worked with affixing paper or wood veneers to the surface of 2-D artworks; some of these are also included in the paintings section. A statement about all collage work can be found here. |
